Every transaction in The Gambia follows the same secure, reliable path through Gamswitch's national infrastructure.
Financial institutions connect to the Gamswitch network through certified integration interfaces over dedicated leased lines or encrypted VPN tunnels, following standardized and fully documented onboarding processes.
Every message is validated using industry messaging standards such as ISO 8583 and ISO 20022, along with other supported formats, with multi-layer security and real-time fraud scoring applied before funds move.
The switch intelligently routes each transaction to the correct destination institution, applying business rules, retry logic and failover paths to guarantee delivery in seconds.
Net debit and credit positions are calculated across all members. Final settlement is executed through the Central Bank of The Gambia's RTGS system — completing the cycle with finality.
