On April 9th, 2026, Gamswitch was honoured to participate as a panelist at the World Consumer Rights Day event, organised by the Gambia Competition and Consumer Protection Commission(GCCPC), held at the prestigious Bakadaji Hotel, Kololi.
The panel discussion centred on three critical pillars of digital financial services in The Gambia: Interoperability, Failed Transactions & Technical Liability, and System Uptime & Consumer Confidence.
As the National Payment Switch connecting banks and mobile money providers across the country, Gamswitch took the opportunity to educate the public on our role in the payments ecosystem, clarify misconceptions around transaction failures, and reaffirm our commitment to building a reliable, inclusive, and secure national payments infrastructure.
We also expressed our support for stronger consumer advocacy frameworks and called for closer collaboration between the Central Bank of The Gambia, financial institutions, and the Consumer Protection Commission to ensure every Gambian has a clear path to resolution when things go wrong.
Gamswitch remains dedicated to powering seamless, safe, and accessible payments for all Gambians.
