Incredible energy at #MojaCom29 in #Nairobi!
We were thrilled to connect with the global #Mojaloop community and share The Gambia’s journey in advancing interoperability and inclusive digital payments across the subregion.
The delegation—including PS Hassan M. Jallow (Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy), Majeed Ayinde (Institute for Inclusive Digital Africa), Baboucarr Drammeh (CTO, Gamswitch Company Ltd and GISP Program Lead), Adama Sogur (COO, Gamswitch Company Ltd), Sheriff Ahmed Fadil Sonko (Software Engineer), and Mr. Momodou Mboge (Central Bank of The Gambia & GISP Steering Committee Secretary)—presented during “IIPS Implementation: Lessons from The Gambia”. We discussed building digital payment infrastructure in smaller markets, our progress, and remaining challenges, with a focus on connectors that help DFSPs serve people better.
#MojaCom29 was special not just for the technology, but for the shared purpose and collaboration. It was truly inspiring to see #Mojaloop’s open-source innovation enabling countries of all sizes to rethink and redesign financial systems for greater inclusivity.
We extend our gratitude to the Institute for Inclusive Digital Africa, the Mojaloop Foundation, The Linux Foundation, our team at Gamswitch, and the entire community for creating such an empowering platform for dialogue, innovation, and partnership. The insights gained will continue to drive the Gambia Interoperability Switch Program (GISP) forward as we work toward deploying the Mojaloop IIPS in The Gambia.
