The journey towards better payment systems is a collective effort, and Gamswitch Co. Ltd is proud to be part of the conversation shaping that future.
Last week in Kigali, Rwanda, our Chief Technology Officer, Sheriff Ahmed Fadil Sonko, represented Gamswitch at the Project IQAS Africa Technical Working Group workshop, bringing together stakeholders from across the continent to advance the quality of instant payment systems.
Implemented by Cenfri with support from the Gates Foundation, Project IQAS Africa is working to establish principles, best practices and standards that promote reliable, inclusive and sustainable instant payments.
For Gamswitch, this engagement is particularly significant as we advance the deployment of 𝑩𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑨𝑩𝑨 𝟐.𝟎, The Gambia’s national instant payment initiative. Building a modern payment ecosystem goes beyond connecting financial institutions. It means building systems that are reliable, secure, sustainable and designed to serve people and businesses effectively.
With central banks, national switches, fintechs, development partners and other industry stakeholders contributing their expertise, the workshop reinforced the importance of collaboration in shaping the future of digital payments across Africa.
We extend our appreciation to Cenfri and the Gates Foundation for driving this important initiative.
Through initiatives like Project IQAS Africa, Gamswitch continues to champion quality, innovation and collaboration in building a more connected, inclusive and sustainable digital payments ecosystem for The Gambia and beyond.
