This past year marked a historic achievement:
· All banks were successfully connected to our instant funds transfer service, Bantaba, enabling seamless, unrestricted account-to-account transfers nationwide.
· Cross-border interoperability advanced, with Gambian-issued cards soon to be accepted in Senegal, the wider Francophone region, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda. Rollout is expected in Q1 2026, opening new opportunities for trade, travel, and regional integration.
Looking ahead, 2026 promises even greater transformation:
· Integration of mobile wallet operators via the Mojaloop platform, enabling transfers between bank accounts and wallets in both directions.
· Expansion of POS payments, QR code acceptance, and e-commerce capabilities on the local Verve card.
· Introduction of remittance account termination services, strengthening compliance and efficiency in cross-border transactions.
· Continued innovation to reduce reliance on cash, enhance convenience, and foster financial sovereignty across Africa.
